The 60 year old pools at Shorehaven Golf Club required a lot of maintenance. Due to rising sea level the pools would annually fill with sand, and the 6-lane swimming pool had a permanent leak. Taking a holistic view of the task, it was recommended to move the pools away from the shoreline. This solution addressed not only flooding, but allowed the pool enclosure to be ADA accessible. It also created a new sitting area for Adirondack chairs and fire pits with a “boardwalk” for casual dining and after dinner drinks. The aquatics facility accommodates a 6-lane swimming pool, diving well with three boards and a zero entry wading pool with an umbrella fountain and pergola. The transparency of the custom designed pool fence opens the facility to the adjacent lawn and water views beyond.
